GM RADIA cabinet in its original patina (1930s/40s).

Superb original patina for this curtain cabinet from the legendary brand GM RADIA. It is made of solid oak and plywood and dates from the 1930s/40s. GM Radia (sometimes referred to as GRADIAM due to the ambiguity generated by its logo: the letters G and M frame RADIA, and are the initials of its creator, G. Moreux) was based in Allier and boasted at the time of being "the largest French manufacturer of office furniture." It also claimed to "only sell to merchants." It distinguished itself by the quality of its productions, identifiable by the very stylish metal plate serving as a lock entry. Our piece opens with a curtain that slides perfectly and reveals 6 removable, therefore adjustable, plywood shelves. It is noted that all the shelves are original (identifiable by the small darker strip on the outer edge, which matches the piece) and are of good thickness, hence sturdy. The lock works perfectly as well, with its original key. The piece is entirely suitable for our modern files or folders and remains ultra-functional. The patina is period, with signs of wear, some scuffs and nicks here and there, but it remains in superb condition, very solid, functional, and immediately usable as is. H: 155 cm. W: 45 cm.
