Commode from the ocean liner France (1960). Rare model. Specially designed for the layout of luxurious first-class cabins on the most iconic of French ships. Designed by Henri Lancel and manufactured by the Nusbaumer company. In blue lacquered aluminium (rare model) and upholstered in ivory-coloured fabric. Top in resin resembling lapis lazuli (decorated with a polychrome abstract composition predominantly in blue) with a brushed aluminium trim. Four front drawers with a central aluminium handle. The shipowner of the ocean liner wanted, on one hand, a "fireproof" vessel and, on the other hand, a ship as light as possible. The wood, even fireproofed, which was once the base material, was therefore banned, as was marble due to its weight. We have several models still in stock. Some are beige instead of blue. Make an offer. Length: 75.5 cm. Depth: 55 cm. Height: 76 cm. Very good condition.
