Neoclassical style table lamp base

Table lamp base in Neoclassical or Egyptian Revival style, imitating an ancient fluted column topped with a very detailed composite or Corinthian capital. It is made of spelter (an alloy of lead and antimony imitating bronze) or nickel-plated or patinated bronze/brass in a dull grey/silver colour. The weighted base features a brass or iron plate for stabilising the object. This is a mid-20th century piece (probably between the 1950s and 1970s). It is in good condition and functional.
