Pair of cabriolet armchairs in Louis Philippe style dating from the late 19th century or early 20th century. The backrest is high and rounded like a gendarme's hat or slightly violin-shaped, typical of this period, designed for comfort. The armrests have gondola consoles. The structure is made of solid wood, probably walnut or cherry, with curved front legs in console and rear legs known as sabre. The fabric is bright red velvet, tufted with a finish of gold/aged upholstery nails. The structure is sound and solid. The protective jute fabric under the seat is present and neatly nailed, indicating that the chairs have been maintained or restored in the past. Width 60, depth 80, height 40/115.
