Pair of iconic Elipson Hi-Fi ball speakers from the 1960s, featuring white coated spheres, plaster (or concrete plaster), single-channel, on black metal stands - French design. Elipson, founded in 1938, is the oldest French brand specializing in the manufacture of high-end loudspeakers. Joseph Léon was the true founder of the company and its transformation into acoustics. He created and sculpted the Elipson sound by experimenting in all directions with plaster shapes, sound reflectors, spheres, and shells. Joseph Léon (1908-1984) earned professional recognition during the period 1940-1973, when he equipped the entire ORTF (French Radio and Television Federation) through his three years of work at the RTF's acoustics laboratories. At the same time, Elipson equipped the French pavilion at the 1958 World's Fair. Public recognition for Elipson came after 1967, with the legendary model, the BS404, a 40 cm, two-way sphere, which became the must-have in home hi-fi. In very good overall condition and in working order, these sphere speakers are easy to install anywhere and add a vintage touch to your interior decor.
