Dark green Kandem Bauhaus desk lamp model 1087 from the 1930s

Beautiful dark green kandem desk lamp model 1087 drg designed by marianne brandt. This desk lamp was produced between 1939-1940 by körting & mathiesen in leipzig. The german lamp manufacturer kandem was founded in leipzig in 1889. From its founding in 1919, kandem has always been closely associated with the bauhaus school, which purchased and manufactured many of the students' designs. It was through this connection that they met student and designer marianne brandt. Brandt designed many household items, including what would become a modern classic: the kandem desk lamp. This lamp still has its original dark green paint and is equipped with a new earthed fabric cord, plug and switch. A particularly beautiful bauhaus classic that fits into any interior!
