Set of 6 chairs "Irma" by Achille Castiglioni for Zanotta

This model is emblematic of italian design, thought by achille castiglioni at the request of the publisher zanotta to design an unconventional chair. It is exhibited in the permanent collection of the victoria & albert museum in london (source: pamono) Castiglioni developed design projects for italian manufacturers wishing to revive their business after the war such as flos or zanotta. The designer's work is minimalist and his goal is to allow the object to perform the required functions. The goal was to reach the point where it is no longer possible to do less: "where you could not do less" Black lacquered metal feet, seat and backrest covered with fawn leather.
