Oiled oak dining table with brass reinforcement bars (for 8 guests) Designer: Hans J Wegner (Denmark) Publisher: 'Andreas Tuck' Origin Denmark 1960s Dining table model 'AT 303' or 'Sawhorse Table' Designed by Hans Wegner in 1955. Made by master cabinetmaker Andreas Tuck. Floating table top with tubular brass rod holding cross-shaped legs. With its minimal appearance and emphasis on form and function, this table is a great example of modern Scandinavian design. Dimensions: Length 226cm / Depth 85cm / Height 72cm Hans Wegner completed an apprenticeship as a cabinetmaker before training in architecture, this dual training will be useful to him throughout his career. From 1938 to 1943 he became Arne Jacobsen's assistant. In 1940, he met the manufacturer Johannes Hansen who would produce his most iconic furniture, which has now become collector's items in this first edition. The “Chinese” armchair designed in 1944 was the first seat to achieve success, followed by The Chair, the Valet Chair, Peacock, the Y or Wishbone chair, the Papa Bear armchair and many others as well as productions for Fritz Hansen, Getama... Hans Wegner's furniture, most of which is still in print, is popular for its clever mix of tradition, comfort and modern lightness.
