Denmark 1960s, Hundevad & Co. The base of the table is square, and the retractable and reversible top converts into a game board upholstered in black leather. The table extends very easily via two integrated nesting leaves, forming a large dining (or poker) table for 6 people. I note in the dimensions of the listing the measurements of the table WITHOUT EXTENSIONS, so that the transport calculation is accurate. Dimensions (closed): Height: 71 cm. Width: 80 cm. Depth: 80 cm. Dimensions (with the two extensions): Height: 71 cm. Width: 145 cm. Depth: 80 cm. The central leg and top are made of solid rosewood with a beautiful grain. The extensions are made of birch veneered with Rio rosewood of the same grain. In perfect condition with slight signs of age and use (rare). The extensions are a darker colour due to their lesser use. Design by Carlo Jensen, manufactured by Poul Hundevad & Co (model 240). Original edition circa 1960. The underside of the central top bears the inscription 66, probably indicating the year of manufacture. The four Rio rosewood chairs by H Vestevig Eriksen - from the same era - chosen to match this table are also available in my list of other items for sale.
