An exceptional pair of 1960s wall sconces — brass-framed fixtures by Solken Leuchten of Arnsberg, Germany, fitted with thick decorative glass panels attributed to Mazzega, Murano. Each sconce features a square brass backplate onto which sits a substantial slab of textured clear glass, studded across its surface with raised bubble-like protrusions. At the centre, a dramatic starburst cluster of deep amber and ruby Murano glass petals surrounds the E27 socket — a molten, jewel-like focal point that glows with extraordinary intensity when lit. The contrast between the cool, crystalline outer field and the warm amber centre is genuinely breathtaking in person. Solken Leuchten was a respected West German lighting manufacturer that frequently collaborated with Italian glassmakers to produce fixtures of this level of decorative ambition. The glass work here — with its characteristic free-form amber cluster — is consistent with Mazzega's production of the period, though as with much collaborative lighting of this era, definitive attribution remains part of the charm. Sold as a matched pair in working condition. Pairs of this quality and completeness are increasingly rare to find. Manufacturer: Solken Leuchten, Arnsberg, West Germany.
