Wardrobe Cosmopolis, 1920s-30s

Authentic cabin trunk "wardrobe" from the French brand Cosmopolis, dating from the 1920s-1930s. Original horseshoe brand plaque on the top. It opens in two parts: on one side a complete wardrobe with its rail and original wooden hangers, on the other a chest of drawers with 5 light wood drawers featuring leather pulls. Period locks, clasps, and handles. Rare piece: it still bears its travel label from the Compagnie Générale Transatlantique (French Line), the company of the grand transatlantic liners. Condition: remarkably well-preserved and complete interior, clean, all drawers slide smoothly. Exterior showing signs of wear: worn canvas with some fraying and tears, patinated leather on the edges. Sold as is, unrestored. A stunning decorative piece for a bedroom, hallway, or dressing room. It can also serve as functional storage or an accent piece.
