Ross F. Littell (July 14, 1924 - April 17, 2000) was an American designer of textiles and furniture, known for his practical, innovative, and minimalist style within the Good Design movement of the 1950s. Some of his work is included in the permanent collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Museum of Modern Art in New York, as well as the Art Institute of Chicago. In 1960, he moved to Copenhagen and then to Italy, where he worked for European manufacturers such as Unika Vaev and DePadova. During this time, Littell focused on developing textiles based on mathematics, as well as metal wall hangings he called "luminars." He returned to California in 1995, where he passed away five years later in Santa Barbara. This "Luar" coffee table is very minimalist in its execution and seems to be part of his mathematical work. The chrome frame is still in good condition, and the glass is even in excellent condition. The blue glass is very nicely cut, as you can see in the photos. The legs feature an opening that gives this minimalist table just the extra touch needed to avoid being too minimalist. The chrome has been carefully cleaned, and both tables are stunning. Two available! Dimensions. Width: 80 cm. Height: 42 cm.
