Set of 5 bentwood chairs by J.&J. Kohn Vienna, early 20th century.

Set of 5 original vintage chairs in steam-bent beech, produced by the renowned Jacob & Josef Kohn factory (Vienna), a historical competitor of Thonet during the Vienna Secession period. The set, from the period 1900-1915, is certified by the original brand stamped on the inner protective frame "J.&J. KOHN / WIEN". These chairs stand out from classic bistro chairs due to the refined shaped central panel (vase-shaped backrest) inspired by Queen Anne and the elegant curved line of the front legs. They are in good structural condition, stable and solid. There are signs of aging (slight wear and superficial scratches consistent with the age of the item), which enhance their authenticity. A re-polishing may be necessary to give more character to the entire set.
