Superb and authentic large glazed ceramic mug signed Juliette Derel Rivier, an important French ceramicist associated with the golden age of Vallauris. Vintage piece dating from the 1950s, circa 1953-1959, during which Juliette Derel worked under the name Derel-Rivier. Very beautiful abstract geometric incised/scarified decoration, typical of French modernist ceramics from the 50s. Exterior glaze in shades of powder pink, old rose, grey, brown, and white, with a very dark almost black glazed interior. Large shaped handle and decoration entirely made in the material.
