Pair of folding chairs Trieste attributed to Aldo Jacober – design i

A pair of vintage folding chairs in painted black wood, corresponding to the famous Trieste model attributed to the Italian designer Aldo Jacober, created in the 1960s. Their design is particularly successful: a geometric structure, very minimalist, with a seat made of fine wooden slats and a slightly curved backrest. When opened, they have a true graphic presence; when folded, they become almost flat and are very easy to store. The blend of design and functionality is what makes this model interesting: they can serve as dining chairs for everyday use, as extra seating, or remain visible against a wall as beautiful design objects. This pair was purchased a few years ago from a Parisian shop specialising in vintage and design furniture. Unfortunately, the chairs bear no labels, stamps, or manufacturer markings. Their attribution to Aldo Jacober is therefore based on the design, construction, and proportions, which correspond to the Trieste model. They are not sold as attributed signed pieces. The painted black wood shows a lovely patina: scuffs, small chips, and signs of use are visible in places. We preferred to keep this patina rather than repaint them, as it contributes to the character of the pieces. They are functional and fold easily. Seat height 44 cm. Sold as a pair only.
