Wrought iron Art Deco mirror

Art Deco wall mirror in hammered wrought iron, in the style of French wrought iron art from the 1920s-1930s. The glass has cut corners at the top and rests on a wide stepped base. On each side, a wrought iron rose blooms between leaves, wavy lines, and small spirals. These floral motifs still evoke Art Nouveau, while the geometric frame and hammered iron are already Art Deco. The iron is handworked: you can see the hammer marks on each bar and the chiseled veins of the leaves. With a deep rust color almost brown, it takes on coppery reflections in the light. The back is closed with a plywood panel. The mirror hangs by its original metal wire. Condition: good overall condition, wrought iron without missing parts. Stabilized rust. The silvering shows signs of oxidation, especially at the edges, in line with the age of the mirror. Dimensions: W.71 X D.4 X H.34 cm.
