Famous buffet by René Gabriel, model V150, created in 1944. Part of a set of "reinstallation" furniture, the buffet was intended to help re-equip families relocated after the destruction of the war. Generally made of oak, many of these pieces can be found in regions that suffered the most during the Second World War. It is not uncommon to find them in Lorraine, sometimes coexisting with furniture by Jean Prouvé. The buffet is in very good condition, with a very warm gingerbread colour. It has 2 doors with 2 large storage spaces and 1 central shelf. 5 drawers. Some marks inside the drawers. 1 scratch on one door. Height: 95.5 cm. Width: 153.5 cm. Depth: 47 cm. Recommended reading: René Gabriel. From Decorative Arts to Reconstruction, by Pierre Gencey, ed. Norma, 2018.
