High sideboard, wooden display cabinet by Frantisek Jirak – 1960

A superb tall sideboard or buffet designed by Czech designer František Jirák in the 1960s. This piece, typical of Eastern European modernist design, is distinguished by its balanced geometric lines, the warmth of its light wood, and the refinement of its functional details. The lower section features a side door and four drawers with ornate handles, offering ample storage space. The upper section, with its sliding glass doors and open shelf, provides a place to display books, dishes, glassware, or decorative objects. The entire piece rests on splayed legs that lighten the structure and emphasize its elegant and airy appearance.
