Large Aluminium Wall Coat Rack with Ten Hooks and Luggage Rack

This large wall-mounted coat rack features a tubular aluminium structure: a horizontal bar holds ten regularly spaced T-shaped hooks, while an upper gallery with two rails, slightly overhanging, forms a luggage or hat shelf. The entire piece is fixed to the wall by perforated plates, in two paired sections. This type of aluminium luggage rack was used in the compartments of railway carriages in the mid-20th century; its functionalist design, lightness, and patinated metal make it a highly sought-after decorative element today, in the spirit of industrial and travel objects from the 1950s. Condition assessment: Generally good condition. Aluminium with a uniform grey patina, slight signs of use and micro-scratches inherent to its original function. A coat rack that is as practical as it is decorative, perfect for an entrance, a cloakroom, or a child's room with a travel theme.
