Pair of antique asparagus plates "Récamier" in Terre de Fer, Sarregue

Superb duo of authentic vintage asparagus plates in fine earthenware "Terre de Fer" from the famous French manufacturer Sarreguemines & Digoin. This sought-after model, named "Récamier", features a charming navy blue floral transfer decoration on the rim, framing a beautiful central relief motif with a scalloped edge. The back of both pieces bears the official blue stamp of the manufacturer (period 1877-1920). Ideal for completing a collection, for a chic country-style decor, or to be displayed in a charming dresser. These century-old pieces show visible signs of their history and wear: The first plate (more ivory in colour): It has a lovely cream patina, some age spots embedded in the centre, a small chip on the upper edge, and a slight hairline crack. It also has a small glaze skip on the back. It is ideal for wall or decorative display. The second plate (whiter in colour): The glaze is clean and white. It has two small superficial defects: a small chip on the upper edge and a slight usage chip on the back at the foot, completely invisible from the front.
