Console solid wooden sofa tip, turned wooden footing

This little console is surprising: when I recovered it, I did not give expensive of its skin! Beneath a thick layer of dust clumped together by decades of wax luster, she didn't look great. And then, after a first (big) cleaning, I saw that the wood, massive, was intact (no tendrils after so many years), I took a closer look at his pretty tapered and fluted feet (in the style of louis xvi) and the shape of his trays, and I began to like it. And then I removed (dug would be more appropriate given the thickness) the wax in the decorations carved on the trays and since I am more and more intrigued: the sculpted patterns do not seem to me go with the rest... They are naïve, not very finely executed, I like to think that they are the work of an "apprentice" sculptor, of someone who long before the time of the generalized diy, wanted to give new life to a dated piece of furniture. Moreover, it seems that he has undergone other modifications during his life, because we can see under the top tray what could be the remains of a drawer (secret?) and two reinforcement bars, not in the style of the furniture. All this to say that this piece of furniture must have had a busy life, full of stories! I unified the color with a little nut scramble, then I passed an antique wax. This console is still solid but shows many signs of its age: shards, scratches, scratches, stains including a large trace of a burn by the bottom of a hot pan. The trays measure 48 cm by 35 cm, the height is 71 cm. The whole thing weighs about 3.5 kg.
