Poul Cadovius teak shelf

Wall library, modular shelves designed by the famous Danish interior designer Poul Cadovius in 1948, in teak. Called the Royal System®, this concept of modular shelves was devised to find an alternative to heavy and bulky traditional storage furniture. With this new ability to hang furniture on the wall, Poul Cadovius has made it possible to free up the floor space and everyone to choose their storage modules according to their needs. Here 1 wooden panel - 4 shelves. The panel attaches directly to the wall, for this it is backed by wooden cups, 1 at the top and one at the bottom. Then finishing sticks are to be affixed to the visible part at the top and bottom in order to hide the fastening screws. The panel as well as the shelves are original and were part of a larger batch stamped Royal System, Denemark (see photo), the shelves are stamped on the slice in the wood Made in Denemark, note that we provide you with cups and chopsticks but they are not original, so they are not of precise dimensions it will be necessary to redraw them. The furniture is in good condition, however there are some traces of wear and a general patina in accordance with age and use. Note: The label on the photo indicating Royal System is not part of this lot because the original complete set has been separated into several parts, but we guarantee authenticity.
