Art-deco modernist bookends in marble and gold-plated by Gold Starry, France 1950. With an abstract sculptural shape, gold-plated on black marble; the company's name is inscribed on the inner surface of the bases. Founded in 1912, Gold Starry was known for its fountain pens, which were produced until the company's closure in the 1980s. Marble base: 14 x 8 cm. Height: 12 cm. Very good condition, with some minor nibbles on certain corners, only visible upon close inspection. Weight: 1.480 kg.
