Caruelle system table - 1950s

Dimensions: closed 54 cm X 40 cm h 67 cm, open 82 cm X 40 cm h 100 cm, adjustable. Table with modular system from the 50s by françois caruelle. This table has 2 tops, 1 small fixed square and a larger one that pivots horizontally and can, when deployed, tilt into 7 different positions. It is adjustable in height and one of the legs can extend to maintain the balance of the table when the large top is deployed. This ingenious table can be used as a side desk, lunch table, watercolor table, music stand, ... The leg is nickel-plated metal, the tops are walnut. It is in very good condition for its age, signs of use on the upper top (see photos) and the mechanism would benefit from being tightened for optimal use.
