A beautiful fish-shaped dish decorated in underglaze blue and white (sometsuke). The underside features blue wave patterns. Immaculate condition, no cracks or missing parts. Period: meiji period (1868-1912). Origin/maker: arita imari ware, arita, japan. Maker's mark on the underside imitating the mark of the ming dynasty, chenghua period. The right side of the mark is 大明萬 (da ming wan). Porcelain with marks imitating those of the ming period was produced at the arita kiln during the 19th century, and possibly before and after this period. Dimensions: 28cm long, 19cm wide.
