Pair of 19th century Louis XVI gilt armchairs newly re upholstered in holland and sherry fabric

A pair of louis XVI style gilt open armchairs/fauteuils manufactured in paris around 1850. Wide seats and good seat back geometry make these armchairs very comfortable to to sit in. They have been recently upholstered in holland and sherry dark grey "chamonix" 100% wool fabric which is beautifully thick and tactile. The seats have undergone full restoration, with new hand lashed springs and webbing while keeping the original double horsehair seat pad. These were high quality, beautifully made chairs in their time. The chair frames are solid but have signs of wear and tear including inactive woodworm holes which have been treated, and chips to the gilt. Dimensions: h92 w63 d55 cm.
