Tobia Scarpa chair

Torcello Chair, designed by Afra & Tobia Scarpa in the 1960s and produced by Stildomus in Italy. This iconic model illustrates the architectural approach of the duo. The structure is made of solid wood, consisting of solid side panels that form both the legs and the armrests, asserting a sculptural and monolithic presence. The seat and backrest are made from a single piece of stretched black leather, creating a slightly curved continuous surface that conforms to the body while providing flexibility and contrast. Very good overall condition, with signs of use consistent with age: slight marks and patina on the wood, natural creases and superficial wear on the leather. The structure is sound and stable.
