Brass and Black Glass Rolling Table with Large Wheels. Italian Work.

This rolling table features a structure in gilded brass with two black glass shelves set in moulded frames. The tapered black lacquered legs, in slender spindles, connect the two levels with great graphic elegance. The entire piece rests on two large rear wheels with brass spokes highlighted in black and on small casters at the front; the curved handle, covered in black, facilitates the movement of the furniture. The contrast of gilded brass and black lacquer, the slender spindles, and the large spoked wheels are characteristic of Italian elegance from the 1950s and link this work to the spirit of Cesare Lacca, whose refined serving trolleys are among the most appreciated of this period.
