Alvar Aalto model 66 Chairs for Artek. 1940s. Set of 4

A rare set of four model 66 dining chairs designed by Alvar Aalto in the late 1930s. One chair has an early brown light stamp to the underside. They also have the early finger-joints to the sides of the seat construction and the five laminate supports on the legs. This is an early production set dating from from around the late 1940s-early 1950s. Structurally in good solid condition. The surface of the chairs has been lightly refinished in order to maintain their warm patina from years of handling and use as well as to replenish the colour and tone so they are now ready for many more years of use.
