Vintage Murano tulip vase with sulphur base (1960)

Superb elongated vase in the shape of a tulip (or arum) from the 1960s/1970s made of mouth-blown art glass. An artisanal model in the Murano style, unsigned. This model is distinguished by its solid glass base blown in a sulphur style (paperweight). It features beautiful inclusions of multicoloured stylised flowers (millefiori/murrine technique) resting on a bed of controlled bubbles against a midnight blue background. The body of the vase showcases a stunning gradient of bright red and burgundy. The hot fusion of the red tube into the transparent base creates a striking optical relief effect.
