Clichy Lamp Bronze, glass, lacquered wood Circa 1950/60 France The Cristallerie de Clichy was founded in 1842 by Louis-Joseph Maës. In the 19th century, it was one of the leading French crystal factories. Maës and Clémendot invented a new crystal called Clichy crystal, which would become the basis for all of the factory's creations. This elegant lamp features a large, curved, milky white, mass-dyed lampshade, emerging from a bronze base carved with acanthus leaves. The whole is placed on a black lacquered wooden base enhanced with wax gilding.
