Mrirt (or Beni M'rirt) rugs are similar to Beni Ouarain rugs, also made in the Middle Atlas Mountains. They are the most prestigious of Moroccan Berber rugs, each one unique and a true work of art. Woven with exceptionally high-quality sheep's wool, the weave is particularly tight, resulting in a denser rug. Consequently, a greater quantity of wool is required to weave each rug.
