Large blue speckled stoneware bottle vase – Jacques & Dani Ruelland, 1960s. A large soliflore signed Ruelland, with a deep blue colour and pure silhouette, that will find its place on a sideboard, console, or shelf, either alone or accompanied by a few stems. It was created by Jacques (1926-2008) and Dani (1933-2010) Ruelland, an iconic couple in French ceramics, in the late 1950s or early 1960s. Standing at 30 cm tall, it belongs to the larger models of their production, particularly sought after for their sculptural presence. This format often served as a centrepiece in their "Organ Games" compositions. The line is slender, taut, and organic, typical of Mid-Century Modern design. The deep blue glaze, speckled with grey and black, reacted during firing on manganese-stained clay, offering changing shades and a true depth of texture, unique to each piece. The underside meets the couple's authentication criteria: a cursive signature "Ruelland" incised with a point in the clay, a blue glazed circular disc at the centre of the raw base, and three dark contact points left by the firing supports. The vase is in excellent vintage condition, with no cracks, chips, or restorations, which is rare for such a narrow neck. It measures 30 cm in height with a base diameter of approximately 6.5 cm. A beautiful collector's piece for enthusiasts of post-war French ceramics (Jouve, Chambost, Capron). Fragile item, shipped with the utmost care in double reinforced packaging. Hand delivery possible.
