Vase made of glazed faience bearing the signature “J. Massier” engraved on the body as well as a stamp “J. Massier Vallauris” under the base. The decoration features a bouquet of polychrome wildflowers on a nuanced ivory background, with an engraved design in the clay. The J. Massier factory is part of the historic workshops that contributed to the development of artistic ceramics in Vallauris from the late 19th century. After the death of Jérôme Massier, the brand “J. Massier Vallauris” continued to be used by the successors of the factory for several decades. Given the style, the stamp, and the available comparisons, this vase is likely a production from the mid-20th century, probably between the 1930s and 1950s. This dating remains an estimate and not a certainty. In very good condition.
