An imposing and sculptural “Diomede” table lamp designed by Angelo Brotto for Esperia in the 1970s, offered as exclusive new old stock directly from the manufacturer’s archive. The composition is defined by a monumental central block in richly grained walnut wood (15 W × 8 D × 40 H cm), whose vertical presence gives the lamp a strong architectural character. Applied to the front and reverse are two substantial brass plaques (14 × 21 cm each), entirely hand-engraved by the artist. The surface reveals a deeply textured, almost molten relief — organic, abstract, and powerfully expressive — with visible hammering and irregular perforations that create a vibrant interplay of light and shadow. The plaque is signed “Brotto, ” further enhancing its collectible value. The wood’s dark, warm tone contrasts elegantly with the luminous brass structure and base (16 × 12 cm), creating a refined dialogue between material density and metallic brilliance. The proportions are bold yet perfectly balanced. The lamp is completed by a crisp white cotton shade (40 × 23 × 21.5 H cm), whose clean geometry tempers the sculptural intensity of the base. Internally, two E27 light sources provide generous illumination, enhancing both the engraved brass relief and the surrounding space. With a total height of 74 cm, this is a statement piece of significant presence, embodying Brotto’s distinctive synthesis of art and design — where lighting becomes both functional object and autonomous sculpture. An exceptional and rare opportunity to acquire an exclusive example preserved as warehouse stock from Esperia. Dimensions. Total height: 74 cm. Wood block: 15 W × 8 D × 40 H cm.
