Sauceboat Regout model Ortus

Beautiful sauceboat in Regout model Ortus. Two sauceboats are available. Scrolls developing in volutes and counter-volutes of foliage and blue roses are applied by transfer on the rim and hand-painted on the handles. Any chips and cracks are indicated by detailed photos; old fruit stains can be treated with white vinegar, baking soda, or bleach. For a bit of history, in 1827, Petrus Regout created a glassworks, then a pottery producing common earthenware for the local market, and from 1834 began copying fine English earthenware, employing British workers and materials around 1840. In 1870, his sons became co-directors, and the company name changed to n.v. Petrus Regout and Co. Its famous brand became Koninklijke Sphinx and finally, even to this day, Sphinx.
