Versailles walnut armoire, 18th century

Ile-de-France walnut armoire, stamped I.Martiny (unknown stamp in the directory of 18th-century cabinetmakers and joiners). Originating from a Morbihan manor house, listed as a historic monument. Facade with two molded and arched doors. Sides with molded crosspieces and recessed panels. Curved and molded gendarme hat cornice. Interior with four shelves and oak hanging rail (later). Stamped twice on the upper and lower facade crosspieces. Wrought iron ornamentation, including cremone bolt, lock, and period key. Lag screw assembly (system allowing easy disassembly used at the time for transport in narrow access, so-called Versailles armoire). Beautiful work from the early 18th century. Old restorations. Good general condition. Dimensions: height-246cm width-165cm depth-75cm. Certificate of authenticity. Careful delivery.
