Villeroy & Boch Dog Hunting Platter

Vintage high-end trivet with rustic and classic charm. This collector's piece consists of a tile made of earthenware or artistic ceramic produced by the famous West German manufacturer Villeroy & Boch, within their historic workshop in Mettlach. The finely detailed decoration depicts a pointer dog amidst tall grasses, watching the spectacular flight of three game birds. The reverse of the ceramic features official markings engraved in relief, including the distinctive circular stamp "METTLACH VB" as well as the model numbers. The whole is mounted on a protective raised structure made of gilded brass with four original scroll feet. Manufacturer: Villeroy & Boch (Mettlach, W. Germany) Model: Game Bird Hunting Decor.
