String of 5 vintage glass fishing floats, each carefully wrapped in knotted jute/hemp rope netting. In the past, these glass balls were used as floats on flag buoys (as flotation elements), on ropes (ropes connecting the buoy to the nets or traps) in order to indicate the direction of the current and allow better "lifting". », on the nets themselves in order to stabilize them vertically at the bottom of the water. To moor them and protect them from shocks, the fishermen “sailed” them during the winter, surrounding them with a “end” of natural hemp. As hemp is not resistant to humidity, these fishing floats were then “coaltared” (immersed in liquid bitumen) in order to protect them. Ideal for creating an authentic marine decoration in a house by the sea, or in a fish/seafood restaurant. Sold in its juice d 15 cm X l 75 cm bc 2023-495.
