Superb old watercolor signed by alfred alexandre delaunay (1830-1894), recognized french artist of the 19th century, renowned for his views of paris and cathedrals of france, he received several prizes at the paris salon between 1870 and 1872. Painting representing a view park, perhaps the luxembourg gardens, its trees, its sculpted stone railings and a magnificent statue of a sphinx surrounded by vegetation. Timeless subject, full of charm, very finely made, all in detail and sensitivity. A perfect work for lovers of french architecture, its gardens, these parks and ancient statues, timeless.
