Tutankhamun stool in mahogany by Josef Frank

The Tutankhamun stool model 1063 was created by Josef Frank for Svenskt Tenn in 1941 and was inspired by a stool found in Tutankhamun's tomb in November 1922. It is a magnificent object, very decorative, in its finest version in mahogany. Josef Frank grew up in Vienna in a Jewish family; forced into exile, he settled in Stockholm in 1933. He is considered one of the founders of Swedish modern design. From that date, he primarily worked in the field of furniture and interior decoration, designing furniture, wallpaper patterns, and fabric prints for Svenskt Tenn in Stockholm. He is represented at the Nationalmuseum in Stockholm and the Röhss Museum in Gothenburg.
