Henriot Quimper Plate – Portrait of a Breton Woman from the Aven Region – Earthenware

Henriot Quimper plate, depicting a Breton woman in traditional costume from the Aven region, near Pont-Aven and Rosporden. The finesse of the design is particularly evident in the floral and geometric embroidery of the high headdress, the folds of the large white collar, and the deep red ribbons that extend the hairstyle. The central medallion is highlighted by concentric circles and surrounded by a wide black border speckled with yellow, with a delicately scalloped edge. An antique piece, probably from the first half of the 20th century, bearing the handwritten signature Henriot Quimper and the number 90 on the reverse. Exact dating not established. Diameter: 25 cm. In beautiful vintage condition, with a fine hairline crack, a tiny chip on the edge, and some crazing of the glaze due to age. Some signs of use, particularly on the reverse (see photos). Bold graphics and contrasts of black and yellow.
