Pair of large English George III style wingback armchairs, 19th century. Structures in dark wood, carefully carved: cabriole legs ending in claws holding a ball (ball-and-claw feet), an emblematic motif of the Georgian ornamental repertoire, topped with knees adorned with acanthus leaves in high relief. Carved belt with scrolls and floral motifs in low relief. High wing-shaped backrest, a characteristic profile of English armchairs from the second half of the 18th century. Original sage green velvet heavily worn, with frayed and torn areas, particularly on the armrests: complete reupholstery required (can be done on request by our workshops). Wooden structures in very good condition, with no reported interventions. Sold as a pair. Dimensions: H. 112 cm – W. 90 cm – Seat height: 45 cm – Weight: 30 kg each. Price: 1, 200 EUR per pair.
