Red ceramic set by Robert Picault Vallauris France (set of 4)

Magnificent and rare set of 4 pieces in monochrome glazed terracotta of an intense and flamboyant red/orange, created by the great master ceramist of Vallauris, Robert PICAULT (period 1950-1960). The monochrome red finish is particularly sought after by collectors due to its rarity compared to the traditional green or brown decorations of the manufacture. The lot consists of: 2 large cups/tall glasses in red glazed ceramic. 2 plates in glazed ceramic (1 deep red shade and 1 red-orange shade) Plates: Diameter 24 cm Cups: Height 12 cm All pieces bear the handwritten monogram RP under the base (signed RP France under the cups) Very good overall condition, with a discreet chip/small usage flaw on the edge (see detail photo).
