Where does "extremorigin" come from. In 1994, gilles canonge and carine tontini created "extremorigin". Their first collection of turned wooden objects-sculptures composed of vases, bowls, candlesticks, boxes is presented at the museum of decorative arts, at the joyce gallery. Then in 1995, they made their first participation in "scènes d'intérieur" at the salon professionnel maison & objet where they obtained the "discovery" prize in 1996. In 1997, they opened their workshop. The manufacturing process, since the raw material is controlled, each step of the handmade turned wood gives each piece a unique character. In 1998, they obtained a new award for the "wood and ceramic" collection (handmade turned wood, matte earthenware, enamelled interior) and in 2000 for the "les carres" collection (earthenware). Their first exhibitions at the "100% design" fair in london took place in 1999. Over the years, the two designers have never ceased to create different collections according to their inspirations, which still have the wind in their sails today.
