Antique brass and mahogany telescope/astronomical scope from the 1930s. France. Beautiful antique brass telescope mounted on a wooden (mahogany) tripod with brass fittings and adjustments. The long barrel and the patina of the metal give it a true decorative presence, very much like a "cabinet of curiosities." Adjustments are made with knobs/clamping screws to orient the instrument and stabilise its position on the stand.
