1900 bronze, brass and copper desk lamp

1900 desk lamp, in bronze, brass and copper, Art Nouveau period. Here is a small, atypical and rare lamp with multiple influences between the 19th and 20th centuries, first we notice its very beautiful Empire bronze base sculpted with laurel decoration then the copper lampshade which is held by 2 wolf mouths sculpted in bronze, small, very elegant details which recall the famous sculptor Ferdinand Barbedienne (1810-1892). And the lampshade itself punctuated with small holes which allowed embroidered trimmings to be sewn to make the light softer (see penultimate photo). The whole is charming, its Bakelite switch and plug are period and in very good condition. The base is weighted with cast iron. Height: 29cm Depth: 25cm Base diameter: 13cm Weight: 1.5kg.
