Antique oval mirror from the Louis-Philippe period, dating from the mid-19th century (around 1840-1860). The frame is made of wood and gilded stucco with a wide, convex profile typical of this period. The surface features an engraved decoration of vegetal scrolls and flowers, a subtle motif often used on mirrors of this time to capture light without excessive decoration. The inner border is highlighted by a sculpted frieze of beads and foliage, a characteristic detail of Louis-Philippe mirrors produced in French workshops in the 19th century. The glass is original, with its old silvering. It shows some pitting and a slight haze in places, natural marks of time found on antique mirrors. The back is closed with an old panel, a traditional mounting for mirrors of this period. In excellent condition. Dimensions: Height: 92 cm. Width: 78 cm. Depth: 5 cm.
