Here is a very beautiful opaline vase with lovely lines: a curved body and a long neck that ends in a scalloped collar, a well-proportioned shape. But it is especially the very original decoration or rather the material that catches the eye, a white opaline glass with "petals" of sandy, amber, and golden colours, giving it this marbled, shimmering, very particular appearance. This vase is characteristic of Italian production from the 60s and 70s in Empoli, and this very particular marbled glass is always attributed to the Stelvia glassworks even when the object no longer has a label, as is the case here. The S.T.E.L.V.I.A glassworks, Società Toscana Esercizio Lavorazione Vetri Industriali e Artistici, was established in the 50s and collaborated with famous designers, notably the American Wayne Husted in the 60s. It closed its doors in the late 90s or early 2000s. This vase is in perfect condition, with no cracks, chips, or even scratches. It has some marks on the inside bottom, a sign that it once held fresh flowers. These marks are completely invisible from the outside and can surely be cleaned with an appropriate brush. It measures 29 cm in height and approximately 18 cm in maximum diameter.
