Antique lamp base in patinated brass – fluted column – H 60 cm

Superb antique lamp base in varnished solid brass, beautifully patinated by time. It rests on a square stepped base and rises through an elegant fluted column, topped with a capital adorned with a stylised vegetal decoration inspired by Corinthian design. Depending on the angle, the relief can evoke a small stylised figure — a charming visual play typical of neoclassical decorations crafted in symmetry. The curved upper rim elegantly frames the socket and highlights the delicacy of the silhouette. The socket is made of porcelain, encircled with copper, featuring a side switch in porcelain — a characteristic detail of productions from the first half of the 20th century. The wiring is old and particularly fine. The black plug appears to have been replaced later (probably in the 1970s–80s), without altering the authenticity of the piece. It works with an E27 bulb (not included). In very good condition: A small discreet dent on one corner of the base, without affecting stability. Slight signs of wear consistent with age.
